County Kerry is in the South West of Ireland and well known for its beautiful scenery, world class golf courses, and of course the friendliness of its people. The area has a rich cultural, historical and archaeological heritage, with more than two thousand archaeological sites on the Dingle peninsula. Dingle Peninsula or Corca Dhuibhne is a Gaeltacht - an area where the Irish language is widely spoken in the home, workplace or school, a region rich in music and dance.
Mount Brandon, on the northern side of the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry is one of the country's highest mountains, at 952 m; the most westerly point of Ireland is also on the peninsula. Twenty minutes drive over the fabulous Conor Pass - the highest mountain pass in Ireland - will take you to Dingle town - Daingean Uí Chúis. Dingle also has a host of traditional pubs and restaurants, and is the gateway to the "West" of the peninsula, with its beautiful views and the famous 'Slea Head Scenic Drive'.
The quiet village of Brandon sits between Mount Brandon and the Atlantic Ocean. The village has two traditional pubs - all less than a hundred paces from the cottages, also serving food. The nearest shop is less than 5kms away, opposite the church. The location of the fishing village makes it accessible to a range local leisure amenities. The village is only half an hour's drive from Dingle town and an hour, by car, from Tralee. Kerry County Airport is just 90 minutes drive away, with flights from Irish, English and continental airports.
